NSS Units of DevSamaj College, Sector-36 B, Chandigarh organized an event on 26thNovember, 2019 to celebrate Constitution Day. Constitution Day (National Law Day), also known as Samvidhan Divas, is celebrated in India on 26November every year to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. On 26 November1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Constitution of India, and it came into effect on 26 January 1950. The Constitution of India is the supreme law of India. The document lays down the framework demarcating fundamentalpoliticalcode,structure,procedures,powers,anddutiesofgovernment institutions and sets out fundamental rights ,directive principles , and the duties of citizens. It is the longest written constitution of any country on earth. B.R. Ambedkar, chairman of the drafting committee, is widely considered to be its chief architect. Dr. RohitBhandari conducted an interactive talk with the students and presented a powerpoint presentation highlighting the features of the Constitution of India which is the largest written Constitution of the world. He also informed the students about Right to Education (RTE) Act and Right to Information (RTI) Act along with the immense efforts of PremBehariNarainRaizada : The man who (literally) wrote India’s Constitution.
