NSS Units of Dev Samaj College of Education, Sector-36 B organized an orientation programme under “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” on 25th November, 2019. The idea of a sustained and structured cultural connect between denizens of different regions was mooted by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi during the Rashtriya Ekta Divas held on 31st October, 2015, to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Every State and UT in the country is paired with another State/UT for a year, during which they will carry out a structured engagement with one another in the spheres of language, literature, cuisine, festivals, cultural events, tourism etc. This year Chandigarh has been paired with Dadra and Nagar Haveli, a union territory and district in western India. Mrs. Charnjit Kaur addressed the students about the objectives and key features of this programme and showed a beautiful video highlighting the rich heritage of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and its magnificent capital Silvassa. The students showed keen interest and offered to be a part of this great initiative.
