Dev Samaj College of Education, Sector 36B, Chandigarh organized the prominent 'Panjab University Zonal Skill in Teaching and On the Spot Teaching Aid Preparation Competition' in the college premises on 7th February, 2020 holding Dr. SandeepSawhney, Principal – Doraha College of Education, Doraha, Ludhiana as the Chief Guestand observer for the event. Students from 17 colleges affiliated to Panjab University participated in the competitions. Students were assessed on their teaching skills and preparing best teaching aids on the spot for the subjects of English, Hindi (including Sanskrit), Punjabi, Music and Fine Arts. The Chief Guests, participants and faculty members were given warm welcome by Dr. HarpreetKaur, NSS Officer of the college and host for the event. Dr. SandeepSawhney enlightened the minds of the participants with the benefits and significance of the 'Skill in Teaching' and 'On the Spot Teaching Aid Preparation' achievements. He awared everyone about the characteristic features of a good and effective teacher and emphasized on the contribution of a teacher in mending and blending his student's life. Students showcased their talent of teaching in the competition through various teaching-learning aids including Charts, working Models, Powerpoint Presentations, etc. with good teaching skills to bag positions. The participants prepared working models and other teaching aids on the spot for winning the competition. The 'Best Skilled Teachers' and 'Best Teaching Aids' were chosen and awarded by Dr. SandeepSawhney with trophies and certificates.
Dr. (Mrs.) Agnese Dhillon, Principal, DSCE appreciated the efforts of the organizing team, the participants and faculty members for making the event a great success. The program ended on good note with thanksgiving to the dignitaries and the audience.
