NSS Units of Dev Samaj College of Education, Sector-36 B organized ‘Poshan Maah’ programmes from 1st to 30th September. This programme was organized by NSS officers Dr. (Mrs) Harpreet Kaur and Mrs Charanjit Kaur. The first programme of this event was Classroom Lectures on Eating Disorder and the importance of Balanced Diet conducted by Mrs. Charanjit Kaur in which she enlightened the student about the importance of Physical Fitness and Health.
In her Interaction, she asked the students about the daily physical activities they perform, what do they include in their diet to remain fit. To reinforce her thoughts she used a PPT to emphasize on how to stay active, what to eat and what to avoid.
Dr. Neeru Malik also gave a lecture on the Importance of Physical Activity and Balanced Diet. in her introduction she asked the student's about their daily physical activities they perform and what is included in their diet to remain fit. to reinforce her thought she used a powerpoint presentation emphasizing on how to stay active, and what to eat and what to avoid.
Another lecture on the Importance of Breakfast was delivered by Dr. (Mrs) Harpreet Kaur in which she highlighted the role of breakfast in our daily lives and the harmful effects of skipping it. She also suggested various nutritious easy-to- make meals one can take and have a healthy lifestyle.
On the 11th of September, a cooking competition was conducted where students were asked to prepare nutritious home cooked meals which were tasted by the Principal along with the staff members. All the students were appreciated for their keen participation and results were declared.
Along with the competition students were asked to make posters and slogans on the theme of Health and Nutrition. Students actively participated in the event.
On 14th of September, NSS units of Dev Samaj College of Education, Sector- 36 organized an awareness rally regarding Health and Nutrition in the adopted village, Kajheri, Sector- 52 Chandigarh. Students assembled at the Government School, Kajheri. The visit was further carried on with the discussion session on health among the teachers and students conducted by Mrs Charanjit Kaur. A street play "Nukkad Natak" was enacted by the students to spread the awareness on the topic of "Health and Nutrition". Door to door interactions were held by the students and teachers to spread awareness.
