Dev Samaj college of Education, sector 36-B, Chandigarh along with NSS units and Guidance and counselling cell of the college organized an interactive talk on 'Identification of Speech and Language Disorder' on 9th May, 2022. It had been organized under the able guidance of Shriman Nirmal Singh Dhillon, Chairman and Dr. (Mrs.) Agnese Dhillon, Principal Dev Samaj college of Education, Sector 36-B, Chandigarh. Dr. Harpreet Kaur, Dr. Shefali Cheema and Mrs. Karuna Singh warmly welcomed the resource person of the event, Mr. Prateek Goswami, Audiologist and Speech Language Pathologist GRIID, Sector-31, Chandigarh. The event of the day commenced with introducing the attendee about meaning of speech, language and communication and its importance and how it affects the individuals with speech disorders like, stammering, cluttering, misarticulating, delayed speech and language, aphasia, intellectual disability and hearing impairment.The affair was concerned regarding management of these disorders and role of pathologist for helping in coping them. The facilitator sighted the audience regarding the fact that the speech and language disorder has been covered under the RPWD Act, 2016. The resource person introduced red flag referral guidelines in order to identify the disorders for early intervention, prevention and cure. Dr. (Mrs.) Agnese Dhillon, Principal Dev Samaj College of Education, thanked the facilitator of the event for his contribution and guidance and congratulated the coordinators of Guidance and Counselling Cell for the success of the event.
