Dev Samaj College of Education, Sector-36 B, Chandigarh organized Interactive Talk on the
theme "E-Waste and Plastic Recycling" under Eco-Club with collaboration Department of
Envoronment, and NSS Units on 2nd December, 2021. The number of students participated as
this day is being celebrated as Pollution Prevention Day. Every year, 2 December is observed as
National Pollution Prevention Day in order to commemorate those who lost their lives in the
Bhopal Gas Tragedy in 1984.This day also aims to make people understand the need for
preserving our natural resources. It also raises awareness about how to prevent pollution caused
due to industrial waste and human negligence. Dr. Seema Sareen, Assistant Professor welcomed
the resource person Ms. Samidha Bansal who is the founder of Green Karma Organisation. She
mentioned in her address the manner in which people can treat dry and wet waste along with the
idea of segregating waste. Dr. (Mrs.) Agnese Dhillon, Principal, Dev Samaj College of
Education motivated the students for their voluntarily participation in keeping the environment
green and clean. She also provided the ample of examples related with eco- friendly techniques
to prevent pollution. The NSS Officers, Mrs. Charanjit Kaur and Dr. Harpreet Kaur motivated
and appreciated all the students for their spirit of learning the skill of environment sustainability.
