Two-days National Webinar on “Insights of National Education Policy 2020- Higher and School Education” from 31.08.2020 to 01.09.2020

Dev Samaj College of Education, Sector-36 B, Chandigarh organized a Two Days National Webinar on “Insights of National Education Policy 2020- Higher and School Education” on the 31st of August and 1st of September 2020 through the Google Meet App and was open to all viz. Students/ Professors/ Research Scholars etc. Over 300 participants took part in the National Webinar from various parts of the country. The webinar envisioned to facilitate the transformational reforms in school and higher education sector in the country implemented in the National Education Policy 2020.

On Day-1 Dr. Nandita Singh, Professor, Department of Education, Dean International Students, Panjab University, Chandigarh presented the key aspects of the policy like increasing enrolments, multi-stream flexibility, no hard separation of streams, holistic multidisciplinary flexible education, academic bank to store credits, rationalizes institutional structure, institutional restructuring and consolidation, HEI’s, common entrance tests for colleges, National Research Foundation and Culture of Innovation and Research. The highlight of her presentation was the Internationalization of Higher Education and Global Study Destination MOU’s with Foreign Universities, International Students Office, and Opening up Higher Education to Foreign Players.

On Day-2 Dr. Khushwinder Kumar, Principal, Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala talked about National Policy of Education 2020: School Education- A Discourse in which he discussed the aims of the policy which include plural society, equitable access to quality education, and bridge gaps in learning outcomes and target. He explained in detail the new pedagogic structure of the education system of India and the ECCE Structure, Literacy and Numeracy followed by Holistic Learning which promotes experiential learning, art integration and sport integration and emphasized on the significance of language in NEP 2020.

Dr.(Mrs.) Agnese Dhillon, Principal, Dev Samaj College of Education, Sector 36-b, Chandigarh thanked the eminent resource persons for devoting their auspicious time and delivering an informative session on Insights of National Education Policy 2020: Higher and School Education. She also congratulated the organizers Dr. Kiranjit Kaur, Dr. Anuradha Agnihotri and Mrs. Madhavi Goyal for the success of the event.
