NSS 7 DAYS CAMP- Day 7 and Valedictory Function

The NSS unit of Dev SamajCollege of Education, Sector 36-B, Chandigarh organized activities for 7th day of specialSeven Days NSS camp and the valedictory function of the camp in the college auditorium. All the sessions were supervised by NSS inchargeDr. (Mrs.) Harpreet Kaur and Dr. (Mrs.) Charanjeet Kaur. All the protocols of COVID-19 were strictly followed during all the sessions.

The day 7 of the Camp started with Zumba activity whichmade volunteers energetic and enthusiastic. It was followed by meditation to relax our mind and body. An interactive session on “Environmental Ethics and Issues” was conducted by Dr. Kamini Gupta.

After the completion of the activities for day 7, valedictory function was organized in the college auditorium.Mr. Bikram Singh Rana, State Liaison Officer for NSS, Chandigarh was the Chief Guest. Dr. Gaurav Gaur, Assistant Professsor, Centre for Social work, Panjab University; and SardarHarmesh Singh, President, Market Committee, Kajheri Village were the Guest of Honourfor the event. The function started with welcome speech by Harpriya and she welcomed all the guests and the participants. Dr. (Mrs.) Agnese Dhillon, Principal of the college extended floral greetings to the worthy Guest of Honour and the Chief Guest.Guest .After this, the college prayer“Mubarak Hai JanamUnka” was presented by the NSS volunteers. The report of Seven Days of the Camp was presented by Himani. Reflections highlighting the personal experiences of the NSS volunteers was shared by 3 volunteers. The students from the adopted village Kayjheri presented a beautiful bhajan “ApneMaaBaapKaTuDil Na Dukha” alongwith the NSS volunteers.

They also presented NSS song “UtheSamajKeLiyeUthein”. NSS volunteers performed NukkarNaatak on the theme “Menstrual Practices and Awareness”. It was followed by a speech by Chief Guest who laid stress on not considering menstruation a taboo rather he stressed on spreading awareness about the same. Dr. Gaurav Gaur highlighted the importance of social work and how everyone should work for a good cause in their lives. This was followed by prize distribution amongst the NSS volunteers and the students from the village Kajheri. A formal vote of thanks was extended by Dr. (Mrs.) Harpreet Kaur. The day ended with National Anthem.
By all means the event was a great success.
