On the occasion of Civil Services Day, Dev Samaj College of Education organized 3rdGlokal Children’s Peace Fest—CPF2023 in collaboration with Antar Rashtriya Sahayog Parishad, New Delhi, Zee Media Pvt. Ltd. Department of Environment, UT Chandigarh Administration, Manav Rachna International School, Mohali, GPF-India and Yuvsatta (an NGO).
It was a three-day event held from 20th to 22 April 2023. The theme of the festival was ‘VasudevKutumbkam-one earth, one family, one future’. More than 300 students and 150 teachers have participated in the festival. On the occasion, apart from the competitions, a Seminar for Educational Institutions, India’s G20 presidency was also organized for the teachers in which 130 schools and colleges were participated. The occasion was graced by the presence of Sh. Ramesh Negi, Former IAS, Chairman Delhi State Fee Regulatory, Rajneesh Kumar Trustee, Global Peace India, Professor (Dr.) AgneeseDhillo, Secretary, Dr. (Mrs.) Richa Sharma, Officiating Principal, Dev Samaj College of Education, Professor Devi Sirohi, Former Chairperson, Chandigarh Commission for Projection of Child Rights (CCPCR), Dr. MoniaMunjal Singh, Member, CCPCR, Ratuna Vashisht, Principal, ManavRachna International School, Sh. Pramod Sharma, Founder Yuvsatta-an NGO.
The categories of the competitions were Collage Making, Poster Making, Clay Modeling, Comic Strip, Face Painting and Fancy Dress. More than 300 students from the different schools reached the venue to participate in different competitions. On the second day, three competitions were organized i.e. Collage Making, Poster Making, Clay Modeling and Comic Strip. On the third day, Face Painting, Fancy Dress Competition and Kite Flying were organized where students performed with full zeal and enthusiasm. In all the competitions, students exhibited their talent with a message to save our mother earth.
All the winners were presented with prizes and certificates by the Chief Guest Sh. Debendra Dalai (IFS), Chief Conservator of Forests and Chief Wildlife Warden, U.T. Chandigarh. The main aim of the festival was to spread a message to work for making our society better and peaceful such as women rights and safety as well as Environment conservation.
