Tree Plantation and Mask Donation Drive
The NSS units of Dev Samaj College of Education, Sector 36-B, Chandigarh launched a “Tree Plantation” campaign on 22nd July, 2020. The Principal, Dr.(Mrs.) Agnese Dhillon along with the NSS Prog. Officers Mrs. Charanjit Kaur and Dr. Harpreet Gill planted about 10 trees including Mango, Litchi ,Gooseberry and Neem in the college campus, maintaining social distancing at the same time. In addition.
The students are also being encouraged to plant at least one tree of medicinal or air purifying quality in their neighborhood to enrich the environment and contributing to sustainability . The students are showing great zeal by sending their pictures and videos of planting /gifting trees and saplings in their neighborhood.
Also, the NSS units of the college also launched a Mask Donation Drive where around 400 masks of good quality cotton cloth which were got prepared by the college were distributed among the employees of different Dev Samaj Institutions who are performing their duties in these difficult times. Some of these masks have been donated to mask bank of N.S.S. Chd. to be distributed to the needy.
The college is also encouraging its students to adopt Mask Making as a regular N.S. S. activity where in student must prepare and distribute at least 10 masks every month as our contribution to society in the times of such pandemic.
The N.S. S.Prog. Officers are always encouraging their students through Student What’s App groups to keep on creating awareness related to Do’s and Don’ts of Covid in their localities and work with a positive outlook for the betterment of the society
